Product received in a timely manner and installation was easy. Would rate this as an intermediate level task. This will require mechanical experience to remove mount brackets if they are frozen without damaging piston rod. Also, you will need to fill and bleed the system.

My old Teleflex steering cylinder was leaking fluid at the seals. The local marina was more interested in changing the whole ram assembly to the tune of $450 plus labor, at $90 per hour. I purchased the seal kit and performed the reseal myself. The instructions were clear, and now the steering does not leak. While I thought the seal kit was rather pricey, it was much less expensive than having the marina replace the whole assembly, which was not necessary. For those doing the work themselves, note that the support arms holding the ram shaft are sometimes hard to remove, as corrosion can bond them to the support shaft.

Leaking steering column fixed

This product was shipped and recieved as described. I was able to fix the one side of my hydraulic steering that was leaking with the simple instructions that were included, along with bleeding the air from the system and saved the remaining parts for future repairs if needed. I would suggest this product to anyone that needs to fix this type of hydraulic steering that came with my boat and my 2004 Mercury Optimax.
